Embalse Puclaro is a shared spot: several schools and independent riders are out on the same stretch of water at the same time. Knowing the basic right-of-way rules prevents accidents and makes the experience better for everyone.
- The rider who is already riding upwind has priority over one who is launching. If you’re about to head out, look first.
- Keep your distance from other kites: never cross under another rider’s wind line, and never fly your kite over an area where someone else is doing a water start.
- Before attempting a maneuver or jump, check that no one is nearby within your landing radius.
- Respect teaching zones: if you see a group of students with an instructor (identifiable by radio helmets), give them extra space — they’re still learning to control the kite.
- If lines or kites get tangled, stay calm, release the bar (safety system), and wait for instructions from shore.
These rules aren’t exclusive to any one school — they’re what everyone who rides in Puclaro follows so the reservoir stays a safe, enjoyable place to kitesurf, whether we’re teaching a class or riding on our own.
