How Does Kitesurfing Work?

Powered by a kite using the force of the wind, you will be able to glide across the water on a twin-tip board, jump, slide, and play.

The progressions and variations are limitless, whether you want to use it as an outlet for adrenaline and self-expression through Big Air or Wakestyle, or in a more meditative and relaxing way like Freeride, Surfstyle, or Foiling.

What Gear Do You Need to Kitesurf?

To slide over the water safely, you need five essential pieces of equipment:

  • Kite (Wing): Captures the wind to pull you forward.
  • Control Bar: Your steering wheel to navigate and depower.
  • Harness: Connects the bar to your body so your arms don’t get tired.
  • Board: A Twin-Tip board to easily glide across the flat water.
  • Safety Gear: Impact vest, helmet, and quick-release systems.

Is It Hard to Learn Kitesurfing?

Kitesurfing is an incredibly friendly sport for all ages, from 12 to 70 years old. It doesn’t require high physical peak condition, and you can learn it even if you don’t practice other sports. No upper-body or back strength is needed (and no, you won’t just fly away out of nowhere!). With passion and the right mindset, it will be an unforgettable journey!

Keep in mind: this is an extreme sport, and it is safe only when you learn from certified professionals.
