Our school was born in the winds of Embalse Puclaro and pulses through its people. We are proud to be a team of local instructors—professionals who grew up in this valley, know every gust on the water, and guide with absolute respect for our environment.

Methodical and safety-oriented, she started her career as an instructor in Australia back in 2024, later moving to her favorite spot in Brazil. She has been part of our team since late 2025.

Martín Baltazar

Founder / Instructor

School founder. Charismatic, methodical, and patient, he’s been teaching professionally since 2015 (over 10 years of experience) and is a certified IKO Level 1 instructor. He’s taught more than 300 students and ridden in Chile, Greece, Spain, Morocco, Tanzania, Poland, and Brazil. 🌍

100% local instructor. Calm and instructional—at just 16 years old, he took 2nd place in the Kitesurf Tour Chile “All Ages” category and is a two-time U18 champion of the same tour. 🔥

Las clases además se dan en un ambiente súper agradable, relajado y motivante. Martín es un seco enseñando, es paciente, claro y siempre atento. Se preocupa de que avances a tu ritmo y de que te sientas seguro en todo momento. Además que tiene muy buena disposición y hace que el ambiente sea relajado y entretenido.

The team was very professional, transparent about conditions and options, and easy to communicate with throughout.

They were also incredibly flexible - even accommodating a last-minute decision to add a lesson, which was handled smoothly and with great instruction.

And the spot itself is amazing. Even when the forecast showed just 4–8 knots, it was blowing a solid ~25 knots on the dam lagoon. They clearly know the local wind patterns inside out. Highly recommend if you’re kiting at Puclaro.

One thing that was different to other kite rental I have rented from: he starts the clock for the rental period when you start pumping up the kite and stops the time when you packed the kite. This was unusual for me and I would have liked to know that before. But beside this, everything was perfect!

The wind was nice and steady and it's a unique place to kite in a desert canyon!

I didn't take any lessons from Martin but I got the sense he'd be a great instructor.

If you're in Elqui Valley and have the itch for a little bit of action I'd definitely recommend kiting with Puclaro Kite Surfing!

He was very motivating and knowledgeable. I feel that I learned the most I could in our couple sessions thanks to his teaching style. For us, kitesurfing is a tool for social transformation. We actively work to integrate local youth into the sport, opening the doors of the reservoir to them from a brand-new perspective.

A living reflection of this commitment is Lucas Piñones, a local youth who is currently learning to ride with us. Our goal with him—and with every young person who joins—goes far beyond the lessons: we aim to support their holistic development, empower their lives, and guide them to become the next generation of certified instructors, creating sustainable local employment in Puclaro.
